I feel so strange posting something happy on my blog given that I still feel so much sadness after finding out about Hope’s passing. I went to her memorial service on Saturday with a heavy heart, but oddly enough, after crying the entire duration of the service, I was fine. I left the church feeling so much peace inside. It was a beautiful service and more than a funeral, it was truly a celebration of Hope’s life. The focus, rather than being her battle and struggle to stay alive, was on the lives she touched while she fought for her life. She touched so many people around the world and as her mom, Amy, said it, Hope wasn’t on earth mend her own heart, but other people’s hearts.

And she did…

A couple of weeks ago, I met this beautiful little guy. I met him and his family because of Hope, and it was in fact, his mommy who emailed me to let me know that Hope had passed away as I hadn’t checked her blog in a couple of weeks.

This precious baby boy was welcomed by a very loving mommy and daddy who are head over heels in love with him.
