It is that time of the year. Time goes by so quickly… This is my 5th year as a volunteer for Generations of Hope which is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping couples who need IVF in order to have a chance to have a child (yes, just to have a chance, as IVF isn’t really guaranteed). IVF treatments are incredibly expensive (around $15,000 per try) and unfortunately, not everybody can afford these treatments. Each year, Generations of Hope raises money for this amazing cause through different events. Images of Hope is one of these events, and it is the one I have been volunteering for almost since it started. Every year, several photographs of children conceived through IVF and their families are featured along with their individual stories. It really is a great event, very inspiring. We take many things for granted in life, the ability to conceive and give birth is one of them for many people. Every year when I read the stories featured at the event I am reminded of how lucky I am to have my children, they are truly a blessing.

The event will be held at Hotel Arts on Saturday March 10th, 2012. You do not have to be a patient at the Fertility clinic to attend. Anyone can go! It’s a great night out! There will also be a silent auction as well as a live auction. Every year, there are great items to bid on. Please mark your calendars and pass it on to anyone who might be interested in attending and supporting this cause.
For this event, I had the pleasure of photographing a set of 18-month-old twin boys. People say to me all the time, “you must be an expert at photographing twins!” I am not! Photographing children this age is always a challenge, so 2 at the same time is even more of a challenge. But I definitely had lots of fun chasing them around 🙂 The images needed to be portrait style (vertical) and black and white. These are the images I will be submitting and one will be chosen to be featured at the event:
