So, we did it! Lots of wonderful people helped buy Dalton a camera and made him a very happy boy 🙂
My friend Tracy and I visited Dalton at the Ronald McDonald house last night and gave him his very special present on behalf of everyone who contributed.
This is a message that Dalton’s mom posted on my Facebook wall thanking everyone who helped:
“I wanted to say thank you to everyone, and an especially big thank you to Erika! Dalton has always found beauty in the strangest places while looking through his camera lens. Through adversity such as Dalton has faced you learn that love and kindness come from the most unexpected places. This gift is the most amazing thing, your generosity for a child you don’t know will have a lasting impact on him and myself. He was just amazed! Thank you so very much!!!”

My good friend Tracy did a great job as a videographer considering she’d never done it before on a DSLR!
We eneded up getting just over $1200 in donations which bought Dalton all of this:
-A Canon Rebel T3 with an 18-55mm lens kit
-A 50-250mm lens
-2 lens filters
-1 lens cleaning kit
-1 Gorillapod (if you don’t know what it is, google it, Dalton loved it!)
-1 memory card
-1 camera bag to put all his gear in
-a DSLR class at the Camera Store
Vistek was so generous by giving us a great deal on all the stuff. Thank you so much to Dave, Kevin and Shawna from Vistek Downtown Calgary for all your help!! 🙂
